The Basics of Bock.
Rooted in traditional German brewing, this is one of our favorite times of year. Bocks were originally brewed in late fall and drunk in the spring, as monks and others considered hearty options while fasting during Lent.
Bocks tend to have a higher alcohol content and are generally darker in color with robust, malty flavors. Multiple styles of the lager exist today, ranging from the heavier, darker doppelbock to a pale Maibock.
