The performing arts are a powerful way for children to develop self-confidence, learn interpersonal skills and experience the benefits of teamwork, and The Great Dane is proud to support The Children’s Theater of Madison for its work in connecting and engaging local youth with the magic of the stage.
In association with the Children’s Theater of Madison’s production of To The Promised Land (April 22nd-30th), the magical story of an African-American girl growing up in Milwaukee during the civil rights movement overlapping with the true story of Golda Meir, CTM and The Great Dane are inviting children (up to 14 years of age) in Madison and surrounding communities to express their creativity while sharing personal stories that celebrate diversity.
Children may submit an artful self-expression (original video, poem, essay, picture, etc…) that describes a memorable experience or relationship they’ve had with someone from a different background – a different part of the world, a different ethnicity or heritage, a different generation – and how this experience/relationship helped them learn or grow.
Every child that submits an entry will receive a free kid’s meal and a 50% discount for up to two (2) accompanying adults, per kid, at any Madison Great Dane location. Coupons will be sent at the conclusion of the contest.
Digital entries and artwork should be submitted via email at:firstname.lastname@example.org (links to videos, photos, pictures or scans of artwork/essays, etc…) by 12:00am (midnight) on May 7th, 2017. You must complete registration form and email your submissions!
