We know you’re going to have a lot of questions when you decide to dine in with us. Below are many answers to some of the most common questions we hope you’ll ﬁnd useful. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have other questions or thoughts.

- Hilldale: Indoor, Outdoor dining, carryout, and delivery service only.
- Eastside: Indoor dining, outdoor dining, carryout, and delivery service.

HOURS OF OPERATION
We’re open 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily at our Downtown, Eastside, Hilldale, and Fitchburg locations.
Will the Dane enforce social distancing guidelines?
Yes. Our top priority is safety. We will require:
- Six-feet between parties for inside and outside dining
- All staff to adhere to social distancing standards
Do customers have to wear a mask while at the Dane?
Yes. With safety at the forefront, we are requiring all visitors to wear a mask when not seated at their table. Don’t worry, we won’t ask you to eat with it on.
Will the Dane provide masks for guests who do not have them?
We’ll provide masks for $1 each. They’ll be available at the host stand when you enter.
Can I make a reservation?
Currently only our Eastside location is taking reservations. Any party size of six or less can now make a reservation at our Eastside location.
Do you accept cash?
Yes, we will accept cash and credit cards. When using cash, we ask you to place it directly on the table or bar, rather than handing it to your server/bartender.
Will you have outside dining?
Yes. All our outdoor dining areas will be open when weather permits. We prefer guests to select outdoor seating if available but not required.
How will you prevent crowding?
We are asking all guests to social distance in potential areas of congestion, such as entrances and near the host stand.
We will only allow 25% capacity, and we will space guests accordingly. Many tables will be left empty to create a safe environment.
Will pool tables, darts, jukeboxes, and other games be available?
No. At this time they’ll be closed. We’ll reassess in the near future.
Will your employees wear masks?
Always. Our team will wear masks at any time they are in the pub. This includes all staff, from managers to cooks, hosts, and servers.
What about gloves for your employees?
All kitchen staff will wear gloves. Hosts, servers, and others may wear gloves if they chose. We will focus on stringent and frequent handwashing and sanitizing, as it’s proven to be the most effective way to kill and prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Cleaning + Disinfecting
What are you doing to keep your pubs clean and disinfected?
We are taking dozens of steps. First and foremost we’re adhering to the Forward Dane Plan.
We’re increasing the frequency at which we clean and disinfect all hard surfaces, restrooms and frequently touched items such as door handles.
All tables will be disinfected after each use. All of our detailed cleaning protocols are available to view upon request.
Will you have additional staff focused solely on disinfection and cleaning?
Yes. We have added a staff member who is trained and will focus on constant disinfection and cleaning of our pubs.
How often are your restrooms cleaned?
We are cleaning and disinfecting our restrooms every 45 minutes - at the minimum. The cleaning log will be available for all guests to view.
Is your staff getting additional training?
Yes. We have provided additional training and retraining for all employees, ensuring they fully understand how to use masks and gloves and how to prevent cross-contamination.
Also, each staff member will have their temperature checked prior to starting their shift.
Does each pub get cleaned at night?
Yes. We will do a thorough cleaning and disinfecting nightly.
Everything food related
Will you offer your full menu?
Not immediately. We are adding several items back to the menu, including cheese curds, nachos, and ﬁsh tacos.
Social distancing requirements mean we can’t have as many people in our kitchen, making it nearly impossible to maintain our full menu. Additionally, the food supply chain has been affected by COVID-19, which has impacted what we can offer.
We will continue to work back to offering our full menu as summer progresses.
Will you continue to offer daily specials?
Our daily specials will return un a few days. Stay tuned and check out our site and social media in the coming days.
Will you continue to offer curbside pickup and delivery?
Yes. No-contact curbside pickup will remain available for all carryout orders. Additionally, delivery will remain available through EatStreet and Grubhub.
Will you reuse menus?
No, we will offer single-use paper menus that will be recycled after use. Additionally, we’re going to offer digital menus to our guests, which you can access on your smartphone.
Are you using disposable plates and utensils?
No. We are using regular silverware and dishes. Our dishwashers fully sanitize and disinfect, killing germs, including COVID-19.
Will you provide single-use condiments?
We will serve most condiments in small dishes that accompany your meal. Mustard, salt, and pepper will be served in single-use packs.
Will the bar be open?
Yes. But seating will be spaced and limited to ensure social distancing is adhered to. A host will seat you at the bar in the same way they would take you to your dining room table. No walk-up service will be allowed.
Will your ﬂagship beers be available on tap?
Deﬁnitely. All of our ﬂagship beers will be on tap at each location.
What other beers will be available?
Our specialty/seasonal beers will vary by location. Up-to-date tap lists will be available at each location.
Will all liquor and cocktails be available?
Not immediately. We’re going to offer a limited number of cocktails during the ﬁrst few weeks.
