Landmark Lite Lager
For those looking for fewer calories and less alcohol, it's a Landmark! Our brewers use only the finest pilsner malt and German hops to create the freshest taste possible. Our lightest brew goes down smooth and easy!
Verruckte Stadt German Pils
One of the most popular beers from the downtown Dane, our "Mad City" German Pils is a traditional German-style brau. Renowned German Hallertau Mittelfruh hops and pilsner malt combine to produce a lighter-bodied pils that finishes crisp yet soft. So authentic and drinkable, it cries "Bring on the liters!"
Crop Circle Wheat
Made with over 60% wheat malt and imported German yeast and hops, Crop Circle Wheat is a true German wheat beer (or Weizen). This refreshing and somewhat spicy brew is served in the traditional manner- unfiltered and accompanied by a slice of lemon. This is the number one beer at the Downtown Dane!
John Stoner's Oatmeal Stout
Named in honor of Fitchburg's first farmer, John Stoner's Oatmeal Stout is a good old-fashioned lesson in rich, creamy smoothness. Brewed with a high percentage of oats - which provides the creaminess - Oatmeal Stout is a sub-category of the Sweet Stout genre (as opposed to Dry Irish, Foreign, or Imperial Stout.) Various roasted and caramel malts lend the trademark sweet chocolate and coffee notes to this beer, while the special nitrogen-tap system delivers a dense head and emphasizes the smoothness.
Sugar River ESB
Despite its name, our Sugar River Extra Special Bitter is neither too sweet nor too bitter. Rather, in classic British ESB fashion, it is the perfect marriage of malt and hops: The light caramel-malt sweetness just balances the delicate yet noticeable hop flavor and aroma. One sip of this amber ale and you'll float away!
Old Glory American Pale Ale
In true pioneer spirit, we offer this brew as our own translation of the British pale-ale style. The full flavor of American Casacde hops pours out at you from every angle, the result of adding hops five different times to the brew, including "dry-hopping". An underlying, rich malt flavor supports the crisp and floral hop bitterness to produce a thirst-quenching, flavorful brew.
Cask Ales
We will always have at least one, sometimes two, English cask ales available for your quaffing pleasure. These beers are tapped directly from our British Firkin casks, where they have undergone a secondary fermentation and additional hopping with whole-leaf hops. Less carbonated and slightly warmer than other beers, real ales are served through English beer engines to complete the authentic ale-drinking experience. Although the style changes, you can be sure each batch is made in strict accordance with traditional methods, using only the finest imported British malts, hops and yeast.
