Beer Unlike wine, beer does not get better with age. It is a fragile product that can be spoiled by heat, light, time of rough treatment. Because The Great Dane is the manufacturer, wholesaler and the retailer, our beer travels a distribution system only 30 feet, and is served at its absolute freshest! Taste the difference. The Great Dane's beers are made in strict accordance with the Reinheitsgebot, or German Purity Law, which states that beer can be made from only four ingredients: water malt hops yeast (wheat is allowed for wheat beers.) Our brewers make a wide variety of ales and lagers to meet the discriminating tastes of the world's most demanding beer drinkers right here in Madison. These beers are brewed on the premises, to be enjoyed fresh and unpasteurized. From the milling room, to the brewhouse, to the aging cellar, and then to the bar, our great brews travel only 30 feet.You'll enjoy our unique and pampered beers in the privacy of their own home.
