Sustainability

The Great Dane pub and brewing Company (now with 5 colorful locations!) is going green, by investing in alternative energy and energy- saving technologies. From appliances and lighting to  recycling whenever possible and using local and/or organic ingredients, as well as compostable supplies and utensils-all contribute toward energy & water conservation not only for the Madison area but for the world!  It is encouraging that the spirit of many restaurants, businesses and consumers in Madison are taking action to ensure a better future. However, we still have a long, long way to go.

 

One of our most green practices: the symbiotic relationship we have with Arlan, a local sheep farmer.  His envied ewes spend their lunch hour munching on spent grain and hops from the brewing process.

 

Whenever it is possible we support local farms and businesses. The following is a growing list of our local partnerships: Angelos, Black Earth Meats, D & G Sausage Company, DB Infusion Chocolates, Frabonis, Gentle Breeze Honey, Heartland Bison Farms, Jordandal Farms, and Rushing Waters Trout Farm.
